Gabrielle Murphy, saxophonist, flautist, composer, and educator was born in Philadelphia, PA, and raised between there and Wilmington, DE. She developed a love for tea at a young age, exploring her grandmother’s collection of fruit and black tea blends, and later experimenting with and enjoying herbal and caffeinated teas for their medicinal, and overall health benefits. In 2013, Gabrielle met Theresa Wong, a tea master, then working at Fang Gourmet Tea, through a friend from her graduate program. From that initial meeting, Gabrielle has continued to expand her knowledge, palette, and passion for tea, and tea making. Gabrielle is based in New York city, and can be seen performing a variety of music styles, in and around the tri-state area. But, most importantly, you can catch her at T Shop almost every Friday enjoying a few moments of peace, friendship, conversation, and of course, tea.
