Intensive Workshop | Puerh Tea Tasting
Intensive Workshop | Puerh Tea Tasting
Join us on Friday Apr 25th at 5pm
Puerh is a very special tea only from Yunnan, China. It can taste quite different depending if it’s shou (ripe) or sheng (raw) , young or aged. Most people think of puerh as very dark fermented tea, that is the shou (ripe) puerh. Sheng (raw) puerh looks pretty close to green tea when it is young, and it becomes darker over time as it ages. Younger raw puerh can be a little more aggressive and quite bitter. It usually becomes smoother as it ages.
Unlike most teas that are best fresh, raw puerh tea improves over time. It changes year by year, developing new flavors, aromas and sensations. You can enjoy drinking it young or age it like wine.
Puerh tea tasting is a sensory experience. It is about more than just flavor. It involves sight, smell, touch, energy and feeling. We guide you pay attention to aroma, flavor, mouthfeel, aftertaste and how you feel.
This workshop will last roughly 90 mins.
