Located in the Wuyi Mountains of Fujian province, China, Tong Mu Guan is known for its pristine environment, rich biodiversity, and ideal climate for cultivating area. The area is a protected nature reserve, meaning the tea grows in a clean, unpolluted environment. The combination of cool, misty weather, mineral-rich soil, and the pure water of the region results in teas with a distinct complexity and richness that cannot be replicated elsewhere.

The production of black tea in Tong Mu Guan is limited due to the geographical protection of the region and the slow, careful artisanal processes used. Many of the tea bushes in the area are older, producing fewer leaves but of much higher quality.
